The WatEase WooCommerce integration connects an existing WooCommerce store to WhatsApp, so the channel your Indian customers actually read becomes a selling surface for the catalog you already run on WordPress. WatEase connects with the REST API keys your store issues, subscribes to the order and product webhooks, mirrors products (variations included) and orders as they change, and publishes the orders WatEase takes on WhatsApp or its own storefront back into WooCommerce — so the store stays the book of record your team already works from.
WooCommerce keeps doing what it does well — the catalog, the storefront theme, the plugins and the fulfilment queue — and WhatsApp becomes the conversation and the close. Nothing migrates: the store URL, the products and the order history stay where they are, and WatEase reads and writes through the same REST API the store exposes to any other integration.
How the WooCommerce integration works
Connect with REST API keys, and let WatEase subscribe to the webhooks
Setup is a paste, not a plugin install: enter the store address and a WooCommerce REST API consumer key and secret (WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API), and WatEase validates the connection before it goes live. It then registers exactly six webhook subscriptions on the store — order created, updated and deleted; product created, updated and deleted — pointed at a tenant-specific endpoint. Deliveries are signed by WooCommerce and verified before a byte of the payload is decoded, so a forged post never touches an order.
WatEase does not subscribe to customer webhooks, on purpose. WooCommerce sends a full billing address for every account holder on that topic, and no feature needs one it did not already receive with an order — so the integration does not hold personal data it has no use for. If a store's webhook subscriptions are removed or break, a repair action re-creates them from the dashboard, and disconnecting removes the ones WatEase created.
Products and orders mirror in, whether or not the webhook arrives
Webhooks are not a delivery guarantee, and on WooCommerce the server sending them is the merchant's own: shared hosting drops them under load, a security plugin blocks the request, or the store gives up after a few retries. So WatEase also runs a catch-up pull on a schedule — every store is swept for anything modified since its last clean pass, with a ten-minute overlap so an order written during clock skew is never missed. Orders are pulled in every status, including cancelled and refunded, because those are exactly the transitions that must stop a fulfilment or a customer message.
Products come across with their variations, prices and stock status, and a product a merchant trashes in WooCommerce stops being sellable in WatEase. Which side owns the catalog is a setting: with WooCommerce as the system of record WatEase mirrors it and refuses local catalog edits; with WatEase as the record the flow reverses and products, variations, sale prices and stock are pushed out to the store instead.
Orders taken on WhatsApp are written back into the store
An order the AI agent takes in a WhatsApp conversation, or that a customer places on the WatEase storefront, is created in WooCommerce as a real order — line items, totals, the customer's contact details and any note — so the team that picks and packs out of WooCommerce sees it in the same queue as the storefront orders. Every publish leaves a ledger row before and after, and a publish that fails because the store was down is retried automatically by the next sweep; a sale can never silently go missing from the merchant's book of record.
Order state flows the other way too. When WatEase marks an order shipped, the WooCommerce order moves to completed with the carrier and tracking number attached as a customer note, which is what WooCommerce emails the buyer. When a WatEase order is cancelled, the store order is cancelled with a private note for the fulfilment team, so nobody ships a parcel the customer already cancelled.
Every delivery is logged, and every failure can be replayed
The dashboard keeps a per-delivery log of every webhook the store sent — topic, outcome and timing — with a retry for any that failed, plus the sync history and the last error for the catch-up pull. When orders stop arriving (the failure mode on a merchant-hosted platform is silence, not an error) the log says whether the store stopped sending, the signature stopped verifying, or a payload could not be applied, and the repair and retry actions fix each without a support ticket.
What businesses use WooCommerce + WhatsApp for
Sell the WooCommerce catalog inside chat
Products mirrored from WooCommerce — variations, prices and stock included — are browsable and orderable in the WhatsApp conversation, and an order placed there lands in the store as a normal order.
One order queue for the fulfilment team
WhatsApp and storefront orders are published into WooCommerce with their line items and totals, so the team keeps picking and packing from the store they already use.
Shipped and cancelled, mirrored both ways
A shipment marked in WatEase completes the WooCommerce order with the tracking note the buyer receives; a cancellation cancels it with a private note before anyone ships.
Order updates where they get read
Order created, updated and cancelled events arrive from the store by webhook and by the catch-up sweep, so post-purchase updates reach the customer on WhatsApp instead of the spam folder.
Choose which side owns the catalog
Keep WooCommerce as the system of record and mirror it, or run the catalog in WatEase and push products, sale prices and stock out to the store — one setting, no double entry.
Frequently asked questions
What does the WatEase WooCommerce integration actually sync?
Products (created, updated and deleted, with variations, prices and stock status) and orders (created, updated and deleted, in every status including cancelled and refunded) come in from the store, both by webhook and by a scheduled catch-up pull. Orders WatEase takes on WhatsApp or its storefront are published into WooCommerce, and shipped or cancelled states are written back to the store order. Customer records are not synced: WatEase deliberately does not subscribe to WooCommerce's customer webhooks.
Do I need a developer or a WordPress plugin to connect WooCommerce to WatEase?
No. WooCommerce issues REST API keys from its own settings screen (WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API); you paste the store address, consumer key and consumer secret into WatEase, which validates the connection, registers the webhooks it needs and stores the credentials encrypted, isolated per tenant. There is nothing to install on the WordPress side, and disconnecting removes the webhook subscriptions WatEase created.
What happens if my hosting drops a webhook or the store is down?
Nothing is lost. WatEase treats webhooks as a fast path, not a guarantee: a scheduled sweep re-reads everything modified since the last clean pass with a ten-minute overlap, so an order the store failed to deliver is picked up on the next pass. Orders WatEase could not publish into a store that was down are kept in a ledger and retried first on every sweep, and the delivery log in the dashboard shows each failed webhook with a one-click retry.
Does WooCommerce stay my system of record, or does WatEase take over?
You choose, and the setting is explicit. With WooCommerce as the record, WatEase mirrors the catalog for display, refuses local catalog edits and routes every stock and order write through to the store. With WatEase as the record, the catalog lives in WatEase and products, variations, sale prices and stock are pushed out to WooCommerce, which becomes one more sales channel. A custom mode honours the individual toggles.
Does the integration recover abandoned WooCommerce carts?
Not today, and this page does not claim it. WooCommerce has no abandoned-checkout event of its own, and the WatEase connector syncs products and orders only. Abandoned-cart recovery on WhatsApp runs for the WatEase storefront and for Shopify checkouts; for a WooCommerce store, a customer who has ordered once can still be reached with order updates, re-order nudges and broadcasts from the same customer record.
