How the rates work

Since 1 July 2025 Meta charges template messages (Marketing, Utility, Authentication) per message, not per conversation window. Service conversations — your replies within 24 hours of a customer message — remain free in India. Per-message India rates as of 2026 (template messages):

Rates shown are Meta's wholesale conversation rates for India. BSPs may add a markup on top. The WatEase Free Forever plan passes Meta rates through at cost; the Professional plan (₹999/month) bundles unlimited platform usage on top of Meta's pass-through rates.

How to use the calculator

  1. Estimate the number of Marketing conversations you send per month — broadcasts, promotional flows, abandoned cart.
  2. Estimate Utility — transactional messages tied to an existing relationship.
  3. Estimate Authentication — OTPs and login codes.
  4. Service replies are free; the field is optional and does not affect the total.
  5. The calculator multiplies each by the India rate and sums to a monthly total in INR.

Tips to lower your bill

  • Route every transactional alert as Utility, never Marketing — order confirmations, payment receipts, shipping updates all qualify.
  • Design support flows so replies happen inside the free 24-hour Service window after a customer message.
  • Segment broadcasts so you don't blast the entire list — that protects quality rating and avoids tier downgrades that compress messaging volume.
  • For OTPs above 100,000/month, consider Meta's Authentication International rates which can be cheaper for some international destinations.

Under the old model, any number of messages to one customer in 24 hours counted as a single charge. Under the current model, each Marketing, Utility, or Authentication template message sent is billed individually. Service conversations — replies within 24 hours after a customer messages you first — remain free regardless of how many messages are exchanged.
