Instagram comments to WhatsApp orders

Every “price?” comment is a buyer

A reel does its job and the comments fill with “price?”, “size M?”, “available?” — and most of them never hear back. WatEase answers them for you: a comment rule posts a public reply and sends a private DM, the AI agent answers the DM from your catalog, and when the buyer is ready it moves them to WhatsApp, where the order agent takes the payment by UPI or card, or confirms cash on delivery.

Comments that get an answer

A rule replies to every buying comment within moments, where a person working through notifications reaches some of them hours later and misses the rest.

If a reel collects 60 “price?” comments and your team answers 20 of them by hand, the rule reaches the other 40 — every one a buyer who raised a hand.

A checkout Instagram does not have

Instagram is where people discover; WhatsApp is where Indian customers are used to paying. Moving the buyer to WhatsApp puts UPI, cards, cash on delivery and the invoice in one thread.

A buyer who has to find your website, re-find the product and fill a checkout form from a comment thread often gives up; one link to a chat that takes the order keeps more of them.

Hours back from the comment queue

Answering the same question under every post stops being somebody’s evening job; your team handles the DMs that need a person.

If replying to comments and DMs takes one person an hour a day, rules and AI-written replies hand most of that hour back to work only a person can do.

How it works

1

Catch the comment

A rule watches your posts and reels for the words you choose — “price”, “size”, “available” — or for every comment. It posts your public reply so the thread sees an answer, and sends the commenter a private DM.

2

Answer in the DM

The DM is your own text, a storefront link, or written by AI from your catalog, and the AI agent answers the follow-up questions in the same thread. Replies you want to check first wait for your review in the inbox.

3

Close on WhatsApp

When the buyer is ready, the agent sends a link to continue on WhatsApp. There the order agent builds the cart and collects payment by UPI or card through your gateway, or confirms cash on delivery, and the invoice arrives in the chat.

What you get

Comment rules

Keywords or every comment, one post or all of them: a public reply for the thread and a private DM for the buyer.

DMs written from your catalog

The DM can be written by AI from your products — sent automatically or held for your review — inside Meta’s reply window.

Closed on WhatsApp

A link moves the buyer to WhatsApp, where the order agent takes payment by UPI, card or COD and sends the invoice.

One inbox, one customer

Comments, DMs and story mentions sit beside WhatsApp, and an Instagram profile can be merged into the customer’s record.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the Instagram engagement platform page?▼

That page explains the Instagram inbox itself — DMs and comments beside WhatsApp, AI-drafted replies and engagement analytics. This page is one job it does: turning buying comments into paid orders, from the comment rule to the WhatsApp checkout.

Is sending a DM to someone who commented allowed by Meta?▼

Yes, through Meta’s official Instagram API: a private reply to a comment is allowed within Meta’s window after the comment, and WatEase enforces that window. What Meta does not allow is unsolicited bulk DMs — comment rules only ever reply to people who commented.

Can the customer pay inside Instagram?▼

Instagram has no native checkout for this, so the order closes on WhatsApp, where the order agent takes UPI, card or cash on delivery. If a buyer would rather stay in the DM, someone on your team can send a payment link and a UPI QR code from the Instagram inbox.

Will Instagram and WhatsApp sit on one customer record?▼

Once you merge them. WatEase suggests a match when the email is the same, and a merge moves the Instagram profile, its conversations and orders onto one record. It does not join an Instagram profile to a WhatsApp number on its own, because Instagram does not share the phone number.

What return can I expect from turning Instagram comments into orders?▼

Through specific mechanisms rather than a single ROI number: comments that get an answer; A checkout Instagram does not have; hours back from the comment queue. If a reel collects 60 “price?” comments and your team answers 20 of them by hand, the rule reaches the other 40 — every one a buyer who raised a hand. WatEase publishes no invented ROI percentages — your numbers depend on your volume, and the dashboard measures each mechanism.
