Mutual Fund SIP Reminder WhatsApp Templates

A SIP reminder tells an investor that their systematic investment instalment is due or has been debited, and — when a mandate fails — gets it back on track before a month is missed. The message that matters most is the bounce recovery, because a skipped SIP is not just one missed instalment; it is the moment many investors quietly stop investing altogether. Never predict returns in any of these.

Meta billing category

Templates on this page are typically approved as Utility, billed at ~₹0.115 per message (India).

Transactional — tied to an order, account, or appointment the customer already has. Cheapest category. Adding promotional lines risks Meta reclassifying it as Marketing at ~7.5x the cost.

1. SIP due

Hi {{name}}, your SIP instalment is due on {{due_date}}. Fund: {{fund_name}} Amount: ₹{{amount}} Please keep sufficient balance in the account ending {{account_last4}} — the auto-debit runs that morning.

Best for: 2 days before the debit date. Prevents the bounce rather than fixing it.

2. SIP debited

SIP invested, {{name}}. ✅ Fund: {{fund_name}} Amount: ₹{{amount}} Units allotted: {{units}} NAV: ₹{{nav}} Date: {{payment_date}} Total invested in this fund so far: ₹{{total_invested}} Staying invested through the ups is the whole point. 🙂

Best for: On successful debit. Showing cumulative investment quietly reinforces the habit.

3. SIP bounced — recover it

Hi {{name}}, your SIP of ₹{{amount}} for {{fund_name}} did not go through on {{attempt_date}} — usually just insufficient balance. You can invest this instalment manually before {{cutoff_date}} so the month is not missed: {{payment_link}} The auto-debit resumes normally next month.

Best for: Same day as the bounce. This message is the whole reason to build this flow.

4. SIP mandate expiring

Hi {{name}}, the auto-debit mandate for your SIP in {{fund_name}} expires on {{expiry_date}}. ⏳ Renew it in 2 minutes so your instalments continue uninterrupted: {{mandate_link}} If the mandate lapses, the SIP simply stops — no alert, no debit.

Best for: 15 days before mandate expiry. A silently stopped SIP is a customer quietly lost.

5. SIP milestone

Nice going, {{name}}! 🎯 You have completed {{installments_paid}} SIP instalments in {{fund_name}} — ₹{{total_invested}} invested, consistently, without missing one. Consistency is the part most investors never manage. Keep going.

Best for: Round-number milestones. Pure encouragement — no returns figures, no upsell.

Frequently asked questions

Can I show returns or performance in a SIP message?

Be extremely careful. Past performance is not indicative of future results, SEBI regulates how returns may be presented, and a WhatsApp template is a poor place to carry the disclaimers that a performance claim requires. The templates above deliberately show what was invested and what units were allotted — facts — and never a projection.

Why is the bounce message the most important one?

Because a bounced SIP is where investing habits die. The investor is not usually refusing to invest — the balance was short that morning. If nobody tells them, they miss a month, then another, and eventually stop. A same-day message with a manual-investment link rescues the instalment while the intent is still fully intact.
